My first off road experience was Rincon OHV Trail, San Gabriel Canyon, California in our Jeep. Keith took me out there to get a little dirt under my fingernails and to begin this journey of teaching his wife how to drive a four wheel vehicle. I wanted to buy this Jeep, now I had to earn it by learning how to drive it. He went easy on me that first day because he knows me. I'm a honeybee kinda gal. We visit our nearby Canyon fairly often. This is where we found out I like to drive in Mud.
This trail is pretty difficult in several places. Several of these obstacles I sat in the passenger seat for, due to my novice status. A great friend of ours, Justin Smith introduced us to Cleghorn. He's got a Toyota with a lift on it and he's pretty bad ass out there. He makes a great trail leader on Cleghorn and I hope we can take some more of our local trails together soon. With Justin this is a family activity as he takes his Son out with us who knows a lot about four wheeling at his young age.
This trail is awesome! It also happens to be a **Jeep Badge of Honor** trail and the first badge both Keith and I have earned. Each of us earned our badge on a different day. There are about 3 advanced to difficult obstacles to conquer, the rest is fairly tame as long as you're paying attention. We caution you this trail is very slippery when wet. Our first trip out there still had snow at the end of this trail and it took some skills I didn't have to get out unmarked, but Keith did great!
